One of our favourite times of the year is Easter, not only because of the children’s excitement but also because we get to work with lots of local businesses.
What does Easter mean at Freedom Fostering?
At Freedom Fostering, we love to involve the children in the traditions of Easter including the religious aspects, crafts and family activities. In our Kids’ Newsletter, we release a monthly activity and in April this is always centred around Easter. Children have the opportunity to show off their skills in a mixture of arts, crafts, cooking and literature tasks whilst also being entered into a competition to win money for their efforts. We love to see what they get up to each month!
Who have Freedom Fostering received donations from historically?
Over the past twenty years since our inception, we have worked hard to maintain good relationships with local businesses. We believe in creating a network of connections in the Wolverhampton, Shropshire & Staffordshire areas so that our children and young people can benefit from opportunities within these businesses.

Who has donated this Easter?
We are excited to have been approached by some great local businesses this Easter, each of whom have contributed in their own way to make this Easter special for every child and young person in our care. Not only that, we also get donations for every birth child so that everyone feels included in this special time of year.
Tesco Willenhall
Thank you to Jodie and Claire at Tesco in Willenhall were happy to help in providing us with 15 chocolate Easter eggs. Thank you Tesco!
Pertemps Wolverhampton
Thank you to Jade and Lucia from Pertemps Wolverhampton for donating this fantastic bundle of Easter chocolate goodies worth over £70. This helped to raise money through a raffle which will be used for children’s activities over Easter and the summer holidays.
Pertemps works tirelessly throughout the UK to fundraise on behalf of charities. Lucia tells us, “We love to work with charities and have always been encouraged to do this by the company. We have raised money for The Way Youth Zone, as well as helping to fund a party for disabled children in Fordhouses at Christmas. Thank you for your generous contribution Pertemps. McDonald’s (Stafford Road branch)
McDonald’s have long been a supporter of Freedom Fostering, having previously donated generously some Christmas toys for the children who were ecstatic to receive them. Vanessa and the team came in before Easter to donate lots of Easter goodies including Easter eggs and toys.
How will the donations help?
We believe in transparency with every business that helps contributes. Donations will always go towards benefitting our children and young people, whether it’s to provide the donations direct to them, or to raise funds via a raffle so that we can provide residential weekends, specialised activities or indoor materials to keep children busy during the pandemic.
Our donation of toys from McDonald’s (Stafford Road) at Christmas 2020 was overwhelming and the staff were overjoyed at the opportunity to provide toys to the children. Each foster carer was given the opportunity to choose toys based on their child’s hobbies and interests, with birth children included too.
After Christmas and with most of the toys gifted to our children and young people, we placed a few toys to our existing supply in our Family Time Room, a place that enables children and young people to spend quality time with their birth families.
