Big Fish Little Fish Christmas Family Rave
Get ready for the return of the funkiest Christmas party in Stafford with a spine-tingling rave history set from Mark XTC. Hear all the best old skool, jungle and drum ‘n’ bass tunes from ’91 to the present day on a bubble-filled, family-only dancefloor! You can look forward to:

Staffordshire Fireworks Extravaganza 2022
The Staffordshire Fireworks Extravaganza is back again for 2022. Look forward to fireworks, food, entertainment, funfair, and lots of fun for the family! There will be a 25-minute firework display from Pyro2000, entertaining you with Roman Candles, Multi-shot Barrages, Ariel Shells, Multi-coloured Stars, Gold Crackling Spiders and much more! The rides include:

Activities at The Wolseley Centre
Wreath Making Workshop
Come along and learn how to make a beautiful, festive, winter wreath! Using a range of tools you will assemble your wreath rings and forage the grounds for natural materials to complete your project. As you will be outside for this portion of the workshop you will need to wear suitable clothing. Included in your booking is a seasonal hot drink and Christmas sweet treat. Holiday music will also be played to get you into the spirit.
Date and time: Friday 18th November, 10am – 1pm. Price: £30. Age: 16+.

Wildlife Watch
Every month the Wolseley Centre hosts a children’s club to help them learn about the environment. Visit the Wolseley Centre in November to watch the owls and learn about their diet as part of November’s theme of owl pellets. The club takes place on the first Saturday every month from 10am – 12pm.
Date and time: Saturday 5th November, 10am – 12pm. Price: FREE.

Weekend Wildlings
Wildlings is a play group with a twist with Staffordshire Wildlife Trust! Come along and try new things outdoors. You could swing in a hammock, get mucky making a mud pie or find yourselves mesmerised by the flames of a campfire. You will be toasting marshmallows but if there is anything specific you would like to toast on the campfire please bring it with you. Hand sanitiser will be provided. You will be outdoors regardless of the weather so your children will need to wear something appropriate.
Date and time: Sunday 6th November at 10:30am – 12pm. Price: 1 child ticket is £6.50, additional children are £3.50 each. Age: 6 months – 5 years.
Yoga Squirrels
At these sessions children will be introduced to the benefits of both yoga and mindfulness outdoors. They will learn how to safely do yoga poses in a calming environment, discover how to relax, and explore the wonders of nature through play. Parents/carers stay for the session, however The Wolseley Centre are not insured for adults to take part.
They do yoga, play and explore whatever the weather so please make sure your children and grown-ups are all dressed suitably. There is an option to move into a tipi if staff are concerned about the group staying warm, dry and comfortable during the calmer parts of the session.

What’s On at The Gatehouse Theatre
The Innocents Film
In the Stafford Film Theatre they will be showing ‘The Innocents’. “During the bright Nordic summer, a group of children reveal their dark and mysterious powers when the adults aren’t looking. In this original and gripping supernatural thriller, playtime takes a dangerous turn when something opens up when a group of children play away from the gaze of grown-ups.”

Swan Lake

Sleeping Beauty
“The story is based on the fairy-tale by Charles Perrault, the Sleeping Beauty tells of the Princess Aurora, cursed at her christening by the evil Carabosse to prick her finger one day on a spindle and die. Thanks to the timely intervention of the Lilac Fairy, she doesn’t die, but sleeps for a hundred years. Woken by a prince, who has battled through the Enchanted Forest to reach her, they marry at a ceremony attended by nursery rhyme characters like Puss in Boots and all the other forest creatures.”

The Tiger Who Came to Tea

Winter Light Trail
As darkness descends, join in on an enchanting journey, as you walk through a captivating light trail through the stunning, historic grounds of Shugborough Estate. Immerse yourself in the mesmerising mile long trail, with stunning lighting elements and fabulous light play, all set to ambient music.
