The National Memorial Arboretum

Little Saplings Activity

Children aged between 6 months – 5 years will enjoy some sensory play and activities at The National Memorial Arboretum. Alongside sensory play there will be a storytelling session, featuring lots of different colours, sounds, textures and other elements fit for their monthly theme.

Date and time: Monthly sessions will resume from 2nd September, 10:30am – Noon. Price: £3.50 per child.

Commonwealth ARboretum

Bring your children to the Arboretum to try out Augmented Reality with their iPads! Join the characters Blu, Kit and Sam on a journey to learn about the diverse communities and friendship of countries that take part in the Commonwealth Games. The Commonwealth ARboretum is part of the Landscapes of Life exhibition, which is an introduction to the concept of Remembrance and why it is important. The exhibition features audio visual displays, hands-on interactive displays, artistic interpretation and more.

Outdoor Escape Challenge

Gather round the whole family for a super exciting outdoor escape challenge! In the challenge you will need to solve cryptic puzzles and discover the stories behind some of the memorials dedicated to communities from across the Commonwealth. You will need to do whatever it takes to find out who has stolen the Commonwealth medals, and which city in the Midlands have they been hidden in?

Date: From May – 30th October. Price: £12.

The Arboretum Games

The Arboretum Games is an interactive sporting experience for children to explore the role that sports plays in the Armed Forces. The activities will include:

  • Volleyball
  • Table tennis
  • Much more!

Sarah and Duck Show

Meet Sarah and her best friend Duck! Join for a magical adventure live on stage with a whole host of your favourite friends including The Ribbon Sisters, The Shallots, Flamingo & John and Umbrella, as they plan a birthday party for Scarf Lady in their garden. Based on the BAFTA award-winning CBeebies show, Sarah and Duck’s enchanting world is brought to life with puppetry, storytelling and music and promises to be a real celebration!

Eric’s Monster Mash Show

“After months of being nagged, Eric has finally given in and is taking Bev on holiday. She’s looking forward to a week’s all-inclusive somewhere sunny but Eric has found a cheaper option – a week in Transylvania! Looking forward to their week away in a grand mansion, Eric and Bev soon find out that things are not as they seem in their holiday retreat. English Youth Ballet – Swan Lake
